Rapper The Game pays homage to his hometown Los Angeles and its heroes, Nipsey Hussle and Kobe Bryant, in the new video for his song “Welcome Home.”

This may be the last visual treatment for a solo album we get from The Game. “Welcome Home” is a standout from his ninth and final studio album, “Born 2 Rap,” a 25-track no-skip released in November 2019.

Putting the “L.A.” in art installation, in the video, The Game gives us a diorama sized, papier-mâché look of the City of Angels. Stefano Bertelli directed it, as it shows The Game in a reflective state, Hollywood, The Marathon Clothing store, and Kobe and Nipsey putting up shots on the basketball court. Further, Nipsey thrones The Marathon Clothing store once his verse takes hold. And in typical Game like fashion, he postures humbly as he lionizes the luminaries while dimming his own light.

Rapper Dom Kennedy is the album’s executive producer. He makes guest appearances along with Miguel, Ed Sheeran, Marsha Ambrosius, Chris Brown, Anderson .Paak, Trey Songz, 21 Savage, Mozzy and Red Cafe.

“Born 2 Rap” is The Game’s final album and closes out a nine-album solo artist catalogue that stretches back to his 2005 debut album, “The Documentary.” “Born 2 Rap” is The Game’s last full-length studio LP since 2016’s “1992” album.

2016 was a busy year for The Game. In June 2016, he also released “Streets of Compton,” a soundtrack to the A&E television show of the same name that features Compton compatriots Problem and Boogie. And in July 2016, he dropped “Block Wars,” a soundtrack to his Atari mobile game.
