It’s hard to argue against a hit of soul on a Sunday. May 10, Griffin, Georgia rapper King Elway delivered his video for “So Soulful,” the album title track from his 2019 debut LP.

On “So Soulful,” King Elway serves us rhymes over Marvin Gaye riffs thanks to album producer Black Metaphor.

In the video, director C3nturii and King Elway show some clever contrast — fun with real friends in an otherwise manufactured environment.

We like this video for two more reasons: they’ve done a lot with a little (dog too). And it’s highly meta–a video shoot about a video shoot.

Expect more from King Elway and K.R.E.A.M. Team as King Elway is working on the follow-up to the So Soulful album: 2 Soulful. Producer Black Metaphor, widely noted for creating Rick Ross’ “Idols Become Rivals” and The Game’s “Ali Bomaye,” saw his creation in “Did I,” by Benny the Butcher, get its visual treatment back in March.
